Description: This is a floral garden scene by the American artist Paula Ida Fenske. She spent her time painting impressionist floral landscapes in Missouri for her whole life. She studied at the St. Louis School of Fine Arts at Washington University where she worked with and was inspired by many other learning artists. In a newspaper article she claimed that she could not work “without the stimulation” of her peers. She contributed to many exhibitions and shows both nationally and in her hometown and was a very loved impressionist artist. Within her brushstrokes, soft pastel hues blend seamlessly, evoking a sense of serenity and tranquility amidst the lush foliage. These strokes often appear bold and lively, yet upon closer inspection, reveal a delicate intricacy that breathes life into the artwork. This painting is signed lower left and is sold with frame in excellent condition.
