Jean Salabet… A Fan Favorite!!
🎨🎄 This holiday season, a clear favorite has emerged among our collectors... Jean Salabet!
A 20th-century Parisian impressionist, Salabet captured the charm of city life by painting directly in the streets and parks of Paris. We originally had five of his wonderful works: some lively park scenes, others bustling cityscapes. The first two found new homes months ago, and two more sold during our Holiday Open House… which means just one remains!
Our final Salabet, a stunning composition of Notre Dame, blending architecture and nature, is the last piece from our series and truly deserves a special home (or to be wrapped up under someone’s Christmas tree 🎁).
Stop by the gallery and see it in person at our Season for Collecting exhibition before Dec. 31!

Description: Notre Dame, Paris, France by Jean Salabet, painted in 1956, captures a lively Parisian street scene along the Seine with the iconic cathedral rising in the background. Rendered in the Impressionist style, Salabet uses textured brushstrokes and a bright, varied palette to convey the movement of pedestrians, the shimmer of autumn light, and the colorful bookstalls that line the river. The composition balances architectural grandeur with the intimacy of daily life, highlighting the artist’s sensitivity to atmosphere and rhythm. Through his energetic application of paint and keen sense of perspective, Salabet creates a vivid portrayal of mid-century Paris, filled with warmth, motion, and a timeless sense of charm.
